Cost vs Value Study 2020

Each year Remodeling Magazine publishes an updated Cost vs. Value study. This study touches on a variety of different home improvement project costs and the value they can add to your home. (and wallet) Out of 22 basic home improvement projects, replacing windows with vinyl ranks as the fifth most beneficial project in terms of recouped cost.

The study shows that in the Southwest region, 76.6% of the money you spend on replacement vinyl windows for your home is recouped through increased value. When you also consider the 15-20% savings you’ll experience on your energy bills, it’s no question window replacement is worth the investment.

The study projects the cost of replacing ten 3 foot by 5 foot double hung windows to total $17,018 in the Albuquerque area, which assumes an average cost per window of $1,702. At $1,702 per window, we can confirm Glass Rite’s Energy Quest window is much less expensive, meaning the cost recouped is likely greater than the reported 69.8% in the Albuquerque area!
