Vinyl Horizontal Sliding Windows

General:

Horizontal sliding windows shall be manufactured by Glass Rite, 808 Gibson SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Sizes and types as specified on plans. The windows comply with AAMA/NWWDA 101-I.S.2-97 specifications for H.S. C-30 designation.

Frame/Sash:

To be manufactured from high impact, modified UV stabilized polyvinyl chloride ( uPVC) extrusions that are AAMA certified in compliance with AAMA specification 303-95. Vinyl main frame and sashes shall be welded together at the corners. Both the fixed and movable interlock rails are reinforced with aluminum extrusions.

Hardware:

Hardware shall be of aluminum, stainless steel, or other corrosion-resistant material. Rollers to be nylon with nylon housing.

Weatherstripping:

Weatherstrip shall be of only high quality materials proven to meet the environmental exposure and performance requirements. Weatherstrip shall conform to AAMA 701.

Security:

Windows over 30" in height will be equipped with two, double screwed cam locks. Windows under 30" will have one lock.

Glazing:

Windows shall be glazed with dual seal 7/8" insulated glass. Insulated glass to have Edgetech warm edge spacer as a secondary seal and a butyl primary seal. All glass to be set on on blocks, placed against double sided adhesive foam glazing tape and retained on the interior with a snap in glazing bead.

Screens:

Windows shall be furnished with rollform aluminum screen frames and charcoal screening.
